The industry programme supports up-and-coming filmmakers from German-speaking countries on their way into the industry and strengthens the exchange between new voices and established experts. To this end, the Max Ophuels Film Festival offers its industry guests many opportunities to network, exchange ideas and receive valuable input. In workshops, panels and case studies, the most important topics are discussed, and current projects are presented in pitches and matchmakings. The focus of MOP-Industry is on the opportunity to learn from each other and make new contacts in an inspiring atmosphere.

MOP-Meetings
To encourage European cooperation between upcoming production companies from German-speaking countries and their neighbours, the festival, in collaboration with the German Federal Film Board (FFA) and other partners, initiated the co-production workshop MOP-Meetings. The target audience consists of young European production companies and emerging producers who wish to explore the topic of co-production (for the first time). During the three-day meeting, they develop European perspectives for their projects, explore the possibilities of international co-productions, and receive valuable feedback from international financing experts. Participating regions in the last nine editions included Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, South Tyrol, Belgium, France, and the Netherlands.

Pitches & Matchmaking
The Max Ophuels Film Festival offers various events to bring young filmmakers together with each other and with industry experts. Screenwriters present their scripts, publishers and literary agencies meet with producers and at the showcase „Talent in Progress“ upcoming talents can present themselves and their work, even without a concrete project. The beloved „Speed Dating“ of the festival was created more than 15 years ago to promote contacts between accredited filmmakers and the slots are still highly requested every year.
